LCpl Darwin Judge's Annual Scholarship Awards

On May 15, 2003 the Fall of Saigon Marines Association presented the 2003 Lance Corporal Darwin Lee Judge Memorial Award to two graduating seniors from Marshalltown High School in Marshalltown, Iowa. The awards were presented as part of the awards night ceremony at Marshalltown High School.

The Lance Corporal Darwin Lee Judge Memorial Award is given each year in memory of Lance Corporal Darwin Lee Judge, USMC, one of the final two American servicemen to be killed in Vietnam. Lance Corporal Judge of Marshalltown, Iowa, and Corporal Charles McMahon, Jr. of Woburn, Massachusetts, were members of the Marine Security Guard Detachment in Saigon, Republic of Vietnam on April 29, 1975 and were killed in a rocket attack on Tan San Nhut airbase just hours before the beginning of the evacuation of Saigon.
