Former Marine House – now Saigon Star Hotel. The Marine House was six stories tall when we were there – the building’s height was extended to 9 stories at some point after 1975. In 1975 the address was 204 Hong Thap Tu – its now 204 Nguyen Thi Minh Khai. Following the fall of Saigon, many of the street names were changed, but several (including Pasteur) still remain

The Presidential Palace and looking north from the Presidential Palace up Le Duan.

The tall building on the left is Diamond Plaza and is across the street – to the south - of the French Consulate. Glad it wasn’t there when the evacuation was taking place!

View of the former Embassy property from the 18th Floor swimming pool / lounge at the Sofitel.

The lawn area is the location of the former chancellery building.

Closer photo of the chancellery area. There are now two vehicle entrances in the area that used to be Post Four.

These photos are the former CRA compound. In the background is Saigon Towers which is located across Le Duan (to the east) of the former Embassy. The above view would have included the former swimming pool area. Below is looking back out towards the gate. We met a lady by the gate who had a key. My friend, Brian Winger, a CPA from Sacramento, kept a watch.
